InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opens a new beachfront resort on Georgia Coast following a a $22 million transformation funded by the ownership. “With locations around the world, the Holiday Inn brand plays an important role in the journeys of guests wherever they travel – from the boardroom to the beach,” said Maurice Cooper, Vice President, Holiday Inn® Brand, The Americas, IHG.
The Holiday Inn Resort® Jekyll Island hotel is the latest edition to the Holiday Inn Resort® brand portfolio, currently at 42 properties worldwide.
“As part of that iconic brand family, the Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island, our first resort in Georgia, provides both the warm service and modern amenities our guests expect and an immersive experience in the Golden Isles, creating lasting memories and unforgettable family vacations.”
The three story property will have 157 guest rooms, including 21 suites. Guests can take advantage of complimentary Internet access, a quarter mile of private beach, a poolside lounge and access to numerous outdoor land- and sea-based activities including bike rentals, beach chair and umbrella rentals, paddle boarding and skim boarding. For families traveling with kids, the hotel offers a Kid’s Club with daily activities, and in the winter months, guests can enjoy the Snowbird Activities Program.
Located on scenic Jekyll Island, guests can enjoy local attractions including the Summer Waves Water Park, Jekyll Island Golf Course and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Additionally, travelers can dine at various on-site restaurants including the poolside Rusty Anchor Bar and Grille, NorthShore Coffee & Cocktails and, opening late summer 2015, Beach House, the hotel’s signature restaurant that serves locally sourced seafood and coastal fare.
The Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island hotel is owned by Georgia Coast Holdings, LLC, and managed by NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC.
