With a striking architectural design based on a barajeel (wind tower) and an enviable location in the heart of the city, Fairmont Dubai has just recently completed a multi-million dirham renovation.
Fairmont Dubai is renowned as a flagship property within the global portfolio of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts since its debut over 13 years ago.
“Fairmont Dubai holds a special place amongst our guests and the local community as the address where genuine hospitality, world class facilities and renowned dining come together,” said Robert-Jan Woltering as Regional Vice President, UAE and General Manager, Fairmont Dubai. “During this refurbishment phase we took into account not only the pace of change and the traveling patterns of our guests, but also elements that would make our public areas more inviting and conducive to their overall experience.”
The interior design of the lobby was spearheaded by KCA International, a company that was commissioned with the task of balancing guests' expectations for luxury and functionality with a contemporary aesthetic. Designed with today’s traveller in mind, the arrival experience begins by stepping into an expansive modern atrium, highlighted by a decorative art chandelier descending 11 meters and cascading gracefully towards a water fountain. Throughout the lobby are select furnishings representing both comfort and utility with clean design lines and plush accessories.
Within this space is ‘The Library’, a lounge area that also houses a wide selection of Emirati cultural and historical books that guests can enjoy at their leisure. Adorning the walls are framed black and white photographs of the old city dating back some 50 years ago, which depict the significant development and rapid growth of the country.
The reception takes on a minimalist look with three sleek mirrored desks providing a spacious and inviting check-in experience, while sandy coloured textured walls behind the reception showcases a creative pattern, and studded pillars complement the overall refreshed new look of the hotel’s lobby.
