The honoured ministers stressed the importance of such a partnership and its benefit on Cyprus's weak economy in their speeches, while highlighting that such business initiatives will provide a barometer to escape the current crisis.

Mr. Mitsopoulos referred to the history and the social bonds Gulf Air has in the Cyprus market and added that the company supported the Cypriot economy in 1976 by shifting Cypriots to work in Arab countries. 37 years later the company enhances its presence in the market, thus contributing in its own way to the boosting of the economy.

On his part, the CEO of Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd, Mr. Antonis Orthodoxou warmly welcomed the new partnership, which sends a positive message in a period where such optimism in the world is needed. He pointed out that the Orthodoxou Group of Companies will continue seeking new partnerships which will aid the recovery effort of the Cypriot economy.

Finally, Mr. Yousif Saeed was satisfied with the new cooperation and seemed convinced that the opening of Gulf Air in Cyprus, will offer passengers an additional quality choice for travelling to the United Arab Emirates countries, Asia, Africa and India. Moreover, he emphasised the huge contribution Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd will have in this effort.
