Varna Airport Open for Business

  • Published by Vedat
The airport in Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Varna is open for business and has resumed its normal schedule on Saturday. The airport was closed Friday after an incident with a plane of the Air Via carrier.
Strong winds and heavy rains veered the airplane out of the runway, injuring two passengers, authorities said.

According to initial information, inclement weather forced the pilot of the plane to land too near to the far end of the track and he just needed more space to stop.

Two elderly women - a Bulgarian and a German - have been slightly injured.

Varna airport was closed Friday with all incoming and outgoing flights redirected to the airport in Burgas.
