Venture to the mysterious city of Can Tho with VietJet

Venture to the mysterious city of Can Tho, Vietnam’s fourth largest city located in the centre of the Mekong Delta.

Best known for its floating markets, Can Tho, whose name translates to “River of Poems”, is also often referred to as “Tây Dô” (The Western Capital) in Vietnamese.

This vibrant city is one of the best places to get a glimpse at what modern Vietnamese life depicts without the decorative trappings of mass tourism. Beyond its floating markets, Can Tho is also well-remembered for its interesting old architecture. This deceivingly small-looking city of more than a million boasts a vibrant youth culture, tasty South Vietnamese food and has a reputation for always welcoming foreigners to its land.

You can now discover the sights of this city with VietJet, Vietnam’s fastest growing airline. It will begin operating a new daily route between Hanoi and Can Tho, effective 17 October 2014. In July this year, the airline also commenced operations of Vietnam’s first ever direct domestic route linking Da Nang and Can Tho.

Passengers travelling from Singapore can now connect to Can Tho from Hanoi or Da Nang via Ho Chi Minh City where VietJet offers daily flights to, with duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes. The flight departs Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 8.50am (local time) and Changi International Airport at 12.40pm (local time).

The Hanoi to Can Tho connection will bring a weekly capacity of 2,520 seats by commencing seven round trips per week. With a flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes, the daily schedule will see an Airbus A320 depart Hanoi at 11.00am (local time) and Can Tho at 1.45pm (local time). The Da Nang to Can Tho connection will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with departure times at 12.00pm (local time) and 2.00pm (local time) respectively. VietJet currently operates three round trips per week on this route.

Can Tho is ideal if you’re looking for a destination that offers a truly unique and unforgettable experience. From the historical and cultural features to its rustic charms, check out what this city has to offer – you’ll be glad you took the time!
