Azerbaijan–Turkey relations have always been strong with the two often being described as "one nation with two states" by the ex-president of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev due to both being Turkic nations. Today, number of travelers flying between two countries increases and as demand increases airlines increase number of frequencies. We have published news on February 9 reporting that Turkish Airlines launches a new route from Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul to Baku from March 15. Turkish Airlines will operate flights to Baku from Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen) seven times a week.
Additionally, Azerbaijan Airlines will also increase the number of Baku - Istanbul (Atatürk Airport) - Baku flights from March 15. According to Oxu.Az, Azerbaijan Airlines flight will depart from Baku at 13.25 and arrive in Istanbul at 14:30. It will depart from Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 15:30 and arrival in Baku at 20.25. The price of the ticket (round trip) for this flight is AZN 346.
