Arkia Israeli Airlines that connects Israel with several destinations in Europe and Asia inaugurated the new weekly nonstop flight from Bologna to Tel Aviv. The Israeli airline operates the weekly service every Tuesday from Marconi Airport in Bologna at 21:15, with arrival in Tel Aviv at 1:50 the next day. The flight is operated with Embraer 95 with 120 seats.
The service will be operated until October 6, 2015.
Furthermore, Arkia Israeli Airlines offers domestic flights from Tel Aviv and Haifa to Eilat as well as a wide choice of packages for tourists wishing to visit Israel.
Passengers as well as representatives of Arkia Israeli Airlines, of the Israeli Tourism Board and Bologna Airport, celebrated the debut of the new route with the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony that took place yesterday, Wednesday, May 17, at Marconi Bologna Airport.
"We are excited to add Bologna to our network of international flights. This city is a key center for travelers in northern Italy and its airport is able to provide an excellent service to all passengers, maintaining Arkia’s high standards and increasing services" said Ezer Shafir, VP Commercial of Arkia Israeli Airlines.
"The flight - said Antonello Bonolis, Business Aviation Director of Bologna Airport - is an excellent opportunity of incoming tourism for the many Israelis students present in Bologna and for the Jewish community residing in our territory, but it can also be used by Italian tourists to visit Israel as a scheduled flight. The connection to Tel Aviv is therefore another important piece of the increasingly varied range of flights to / from Bologna. "
"Israel is everyday much closer: Arkia’s flights will be a great opportunity for all," said Avital Kotzer Adari, adviser Tourism Affairs, Embassy of Israel, "and will be a great opportunity for those who want to reach Israel for a group holiday, but also, and especially, for couples, families and young people, with the convenience of a flight departing from their own city!
Israel is an all year round destination, suitable both for a unique cultural holiday, and for a fun-filled holiday in contact with nature, good food and wine and a pinch of spirituality."
