Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara to Open in 2028

Hilton has announced the signing of Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara, reinforcing the company’s rapid expansion in Mexico, where it boasts a robust portfolio of more than 90 hotels with an additional 30 projects in development.

Signed on the heels of the recently opened Hilton Garden Inn Guadalajara Airport and expected to open in 2028, the new-build, 170-room hotel will boost Hilton’s presence in Guadalajara, which is emerging as a must-visit destination for business and leisure travelers. Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara is owned by Trust Capital and will be managed by Hilton.

“Hilton continues to strengthen its presence in Mexico through an accelerated multi brand, multi destination strategy. The signing of Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara underscores our commitment to expand the footprint of award-winning brands across the country and in Guadalajara, giving guests more options for their stay,” said Mario Carbone, managing director of development, Mexico and Central America, Hilton.

“We are proud of our continued growth and excited to bring together Hilton’s iconic hospitality and the vision of our owners and partners to redefine the city’s growing tourism offerings.”

Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara is set to cement Hilton’s presence in Guadalajara, where the company has five open hotels and two additional projects under construction, including Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico and Hampton by Hilton Guadalajara Iteso. Additionally, the signing represents the first Canopy by Hilton hotel in Guadalajara and second property in Mexico, joining Canopy by Hilton Cancun La Isla.

“We are thrilled to introduce Canopy by Hilton to Guadalajara as we continue to expand the brand’s footprint of more than 40 high-end, boutique hotels in the most desirable destinations around the world,” said Jenna Hackett, brand leader, Canopy by Hilton.

“Canopy Guadalajara will deliver an inviting hotel experience that truly immerses guests in the best of the locale with sophisticated design, bespoke food and beverage, and premium amenities.”

The seven-story, 170-room hotel will be located in the heart of the Guadalajara metropolitan area in one of the city’s most energetic neighborhoods and within walking distance to the Andares Mall, giving guests access to luxurious shopping experiences, exquisite culinary delights, varied entertainment offerings, and a vibrant atmosphere.

Canopy by Hilton Guadalajara will be developed under the collaboration of Estudio AMA and SOM for architecture and Esrawe Studio for interior design. The design will exemplify the brand’s vision of being authentically rooted in the neighborhood, with inspiring concepts and sensory programming – from music to lighting to the brand’s signature scent – to create a vibe that makes the hotel a thriving neighborhood hangout. The hotel will also be part of Legend, a large mixed-use development including high-end retail, office space and residences, which is considered one of the most ambitious projects in the city.

For travelers and locals alike seeking bespoke dining experiences, the hotel’s food and beverage outlets will include a lively lobby bar, all-day restaurant and scenic rooftop with a pool, bar, and restaurant. The hotel will also feature boutique meeting spaces of 350 square meters / 3,700 square feet.

In Mexico, Hilton currently welcomes guests across a portfolio of more than 90 hotels, and has over 30 additional projects in the pipeline, across its award-winning brands. The country represents Hilton’s fifth largest market worldwide and its largest in the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA). Hilton continues its accelerated expansion in CALA with more than more than 220 hotels in 29 countries and territories and a growing pipeline of more than 110 properties in development.
