Nordic Walking (or Pole walking), practiced as summer training by cross-country skiing of Nordic and Scandinavian athletes, begins to spread in the world only in nineties as discipline designed to be training vehicle for everyone.
This easy, funny and cheap outdoor activity, is a year-round sport for every taste. It consists just in a simple walking aid by poles. The alternating step supports tourists during long walking and, if the exercise is correct, it will become a body-mind fusion, which brings enormous psychophysical benefits.
The city of Cividale del Friuli, with its historical and environmental heritages, offers various routes to Nordic Walking lovers: a naturalistic itinerary and others on bike path.
The proposal is increased and completed with others urban trekking routes: in particular the “South ring of Natisone” that runs along the river. This area is particularly fascinating thanks to its environmental and naturalistic aspects, and to the water path, essential for the creation of the city; The “North ring of Natisone” that crosses the country where we can see D.O.C. vineyards "Colli Orientali del Friuli" and olive trees, mark of recent recovery of an ancient tradition; Guspergo ring, thickly covered with a dense tree surface, with black and scots pines specimens, chestnut trees, black hornbeam trees and manna ash, passes also through natural meadows and stable fields, which offer, especially during spring, rich and attractive blooms.
