Soobhiraj Bungsraz

The Board of Directors of Air Mauritius has appointed Soobhiraj Bungsraz as Chief Executive Officer with effect from the 1st of October 2010.

Soobhiraj Bungsraz is an executive with a long career as a professional in the field of aviation in the Australian government where he held several management positions. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Punjab) and the following qualifications from the University of Newcastle, Australia : a Graduate Diploma in Management, a Master in Business Administration and a Master in Information Technology.

Soobhiraj Bungsraz is also a Chartered Professional Engineer and is a member of several professional bodies including the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Australian Institute of Management and, Engineers Australia.

Kamal Taposeea, Chairman of the Board, stated "On behalf of the Board, I wish a very warm welcome to Soobhiraj as he joins the airline as the new CEO with his vast experience in the aviation field and wish him the best of luck."

Air Mauritius is the national carrier of the Republic of Mauritius. Created in 1967, it currently operates a fleet of four A340-300, two A340-300E, two A330-200, two A319-100 and two ATR72-500. Air Mauritius presently flies to twenty-five destinations in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Indian Ocean.
