The Napa Valley Destination Council (NVDC) has announced the appointment of Allison Lane Simpson to the position of Vice President, Communications, leading the public relations and social media activity for the organization.

The NVDC is Napa County's official tourism destination marketing organization.

Simpson, a 20-year Napa Valley resident, previously held senior public relations and corporate communications positions at Beringer Vineyards and Foster's Wine Estates, and most-recently owned Leap Forward Communications, a St. Helena-based communications consulting company. Prior to her communications career, Simpson developed a passion for food, wine, art and travel during stints living abroad, and in restaurant and hotel management roles.

"We're very excited to have Allison join our team," said Clay Gregory, CEO of The Napa Valley Destination Council. "She brings a great depth of experience, a broad knowledge of The Napa Valley, close community relationships, and wonderful enthusiasm and energy to her new role. These are huge assets that will help her hit the ground running as we pursue our goals of strategically promoting, protecting and enhancing The Napa Valley's position as America's legendary wine, food, arts and wellness destination."
