GainingEdge has welcomed Jackie Caldwell onboard as its Business Development Consultant for Australia and New Zealand.
Formerly from arinex, a leading Australian professional congress organizer (PCO), and the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), Jackie will work with Faye Langley (already on the team) to offer representative and business development support for destinations who have their eye on the Australia and New Zealand business events markets.
“The strength of the Australian dollar and economy has kept the outbound market very buoyant. This, coupled with interest of both markets in destinations that offer unique cultural and nature based programmes make Australia and New Zealand an important high yield market that provides repeat business events groups,” said Jackie.
In recent months, GainingEdge has embarked on several other consulting jobs including writing a strategy for the development of a Gauteng Provincial CVB (South Africa) and Costa Brava (Spain). The company is also involved in strategic consultancy and business planning for the newly established South African National Convention Bureau. Earlier this year, GainingEdge signed with Yokohama CVB to provide a leads research and development service to identify association congresses, and assist in bid strategies.
Today, 8 years since the company started, GainingEdge has four Associate Offices – Malaysia, USA, Brazil and France – and a team of 10 consultants. “We are fortunate to be able to tap into our global network and resources to provide optimum ROI for our clients,” said Gary Grimmer, CEO.
GainingEdge will run a GainingLeads session during IMEX where their CVB clients/contacts are invited to exchange bid intelligence on association meetings. A total of 14 organisations have signed up for this exchange. In addition, GainingEdge is providing pro-bono assistance and support to the two IMEX Wild Card winners this year – Sendai Tourism & Convention Bureau (Japan) and International Fair and Convention Center of El Salvador (CIFCO). This support includes pre show preparation and on-site advice for these two organisations as they make their international debut at IMEX from 22-24 May 2012.
