Super Bowl XLVIII (48) will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 2nd February 2014. This is the first Super Bowl game ever to be played in an outdoor stadium in a cold weather destination.
“Super Bowl XLVIII marks a great time to visit New York City, and whether New Yorkers and visitors are sports fans or more interested in the half time entertainment, there is something for everyone,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “We are eager to welcome thousands of people from around the world to cheer on the teams, visit our vibrant city and enjoy the free events, entertainment and activities at Super Bowl Boulevard.”
Super Bowl Boulevard, combined with all of the city’s many iconic attractions which entice more than one million Brits per year, will ensure New York City is at its most vibrant for travellers visiting in late January and early February 2014. These are traditionally the best value months to visit New York City, with special programmes including NYC Restaurant Week, Broadway Week and hotel deals offering even more savings opportunities.
While 80,000 fans will enjoy Super Bowl XLVIII inside the MetLife Stadium, more than 150,000 are expected to visit or stay in New York City during the week of the competition to take part in the football themed activities.
