One of the world's most colourful performers; Katy Perry takes up residence in London in a special candy land set.
Katy's amazing wax figure is visiting Madame Tussauds London until June. "Katy's amazing wax figure is paying us a visit from Madame Tussauds Sydney, and as it's Easter we thought we'd pay tribute to some of the singer’s famous confectionary-themed performances," explains our PR Manager, Nicole Fenner.
“Katy Perry takes up residence at our world famous attraction in a special candy land set - complete with giant gummy bears, ginormous cup cakes and massive candy canes. Plus over the Easter period there will be free sweet treats* for guests.”
"We wanted to create something suitably fantastical and this candy-themed set is the perfect backdrop for her breath-taking outfit, which has been created especially for Madame Tussauds by Katy's own costumiers. We know guests will love joining Katy in her special Easter candy land!" added Nicole.
The figure wears one of the celebrated singer’s typically flamboyant stage costumes from her 2011 California Dreams tour – a heart shaped tutu-style dress, with sequin encrusted candy-striped corset and multicolour polka-dot gloves.
Perry worked closely with our studios team on the creation of her figure, sitting for us to take hundreds of measurements and perfectly match skin tones and eye colour. The figure was originally unveiled in our sister attraction in Sydney last year. There are also figures of Perry in entirely different styles in attractions in the US, Asia, and Europe.
The Sydney figure will remain here in London until June. Guests will be invited to meet Katy Perry’s wax figure in its specially created candy-themed set throughout the Easter school holidays.
