The State of Mexico launches Convention Brand at IMEX America

GainingEdge recently completed a feasibility study for Ministry of Tourism of The State of Mexico for a purpose built international standard convention centre in Toluca.

This is part of the Ministry’s promotion and development strategy focused on four specific locations: Toluca, Valle de Bravo, Ixtapan de le Sal and Teotihuacan. The development of these destinations are meant to complement one another and provide greater competitiveness to the State of Mexico.

According to the Ministry, Mexico conducted its Meeting Industry Economic Impact Study in 2013. The study reported that some 4,488 meetings were held with corporate events at 40% of total, 28% being trade shows and exhibitions, 16% congress and conventions, 9% seminars and incentive events occupying 7% of the total.

The Ministry held a press conference at IMEX America on 15 October 2014 to announce its conventions brand.
