Shoppers will discover hand-picked treasures of the fashion world from the iconic Gucci Bamboo bag and Yves Saint Laurent safari jacket, to the ageless Chanel quilted chained bag and further beautiful creations from the 40s to the 90s. The exposition will also carry a rare edit of striking designs worn by celebrity idols including: 60’s pin-up Jane ‘Barbarella’ Fonda, American bombshell Marilyn Monroe and the original bespoke, hand-made Hermès bag inspired and created for Jane Birkin.
A.N.G.E.L.O. – the largest and most renowned archive of vintage fashion in Europe – will tour the UK for the first time with a series of exclusive pop-ups showcasing his vintage fashion collections, alongside a curated Timeless Style exhibition celebrating fashion and style through the ages.
The vintage festival will grace the UK from 30 April – 17 May at Swindon Designer Outlet with the tour then continuing to York Designer Outlet from 21 May- 7 June following a tour of McArthurGlen’s Italian centres last summer. Angelo Caroli – “King of Vintage” and founder of A.N.G.E.L.O. – will personally launch his wondrous emporiums with special VIP weekend events on 2 – 3 May at Swindon and 23 – 24 May at York. As part of the weekend, both centres will host special ‘swap areas’ where shoppers can have their own personal vintage items evaluated, with an option to exchange with an A.N.G.E.L.O. vintage item of the same value.
Aptly named ‘Timeless Style’, a pop-up exhibition at each centre will celebrate statement fashions that have left an enduring mark in the history books of the twentieth century.
The festival is dedicated to the fashion of the past, created in collaboration with Angelo Caroli, a pioneer of vintage in Italy and international trailblazer in ethical fashion. His stunning collection of striking one-of-a-kind finds has graced red carpets and movie sets from the Oscars to period cinematic dramas.
To coincide with the exhibit, both outlets will host an A.N.G.E.L.O. pop-up boutique where vintage lovers can unearth stunning vintage pieces from the likes of Chanel, Hèrmes, Dior, Versace, Céline. The shrine to vintage will house exquisite collector’s items from famous Italian tailors to masters of Parisian Haute Couture, allowing fashion aficionados to make a piece of history their own. Throughout the festival, shoppers will receive a complimentary limited edition vintage A.N.G.E.L.O. scarf with purchase. There will also be the chance to get exclusive invites to further VIP events, when registering online on the McArthurGlen website.
