Malaysia receives fewer tourists in First Quarter of 2015

Malaysia received 6.48 million tourist arrivals in the first quarter (Jan-March) of this year according to the latest tourism statistics of Tourism Malaysia. Singapore with 3.2 million travelers ranked number 1 market for Malaysia followed by Indonesia (671,211) and China (379,265). A total of 3,241,651 Singapore nationals visited Malaysia between January and March 2015.

A total of 6,482,696 tourists arrived to the country which receives 8.6 percent less tourists compare to first quarter of 2014.

Brunei Darussalam, India, South Korea, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Cambodia, Spain were the only countries that show an increase in tourist arrivals during the first 3 months of 2015.

4,564 Turkish tourists visited Malaysia in Q1 of 2015, a decrease of 4.3%. 4,770 Turkish nationals visited Malaysia in the same period last year.
