Marco Polo Hotels announced the appointment of Mr John Roberts as General Manager of the Marco Polo Jinjiang in China, scheduled to open in April 2009.
Mr Roberts is an experienced hotel operator and has held various positions including Hotel Manager with The Westin Taipei, Sheraton Grand Walkerhill Seoul, Ciragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Istanbul, Century International Hotels Hong Kong, Hyatt Regency Cancun Mexico, and most recently completed the opening of the 770 room Le Royal Meridien Shanghai.
“I am pleased that John has accepted this important assignment to manage the 5th Marco Polo hotel in China. Marco Polo Jinjiang, the first international hotel in the city, will bring a new dimension of quality and sophistication to the city and set the standard of a true 5 star property in this southern city,” said Steve Kleinschmidt, President of Marco Polo Hotels.
The Marco Polo Jinjiang will provide 290 rooms and suites including Marco Polo’s signature Continental Club Floor providing the finest in international service. The dining options will include Café Marco, the Lobby Lounge, a Chinese restaurant and a Japanese restaurant.
The conference and banquet facilities will include the Marco Polo Ballroom, the Junior Ballroom and seven Function Rooms. A recreation area features an outdoor swimming pool, health spa and gymnasium.
