The event, hosted each year by the International Special Events Society, celebrates and honors the best of the best in the special events industry.
The National Conference Center, well known for being an ideal site for corporate meetings, won the “Best Venue” award by sharing the details of a beautiful, traditional Indian wedding that took place on the property last year. The wedding was attended by more than 300 guests and included many different elements throughout the day. The event utilized many of the facilities available at NCC, including the courtyard patio, covered portico, pre-function space, ballroom and a large number of guest rooms. NCC also provided decorative up-lighting, table enhancements and banquet staff.
“I am pleased that the National Conference Center has been recognized for an event that used so many of the on-site amenities we have to offer,” said Kurt Krause, general manager at NCC. “While we are best known for providing a distraction free learning environment, many of our peaceful and tranquil attributes fit well with this joyous occasion. It is our goal to exceed client expectations during every event held here at NCC.”
The event began at 2 p.m. with a baraat, the groom’s procession to the wedding venue. The baraat was followed by a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on the courtyard patio which was decorated with pink and white paper lanterns for the event. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an ice cream reception which was followed by a cocktail hour in the pre-function space of the ballroom. The event ended at midnight after dinner and dancing in the ballroom at NCC.
“It is an honor to be recognized for such a unique event at the ISES Capital Awards Gala,” said Catering Sales Manager Rachael Mull, who nominated the event. “I am so grateful for the opportunity to showcase our venue and our capabilities.”
