NYC & Company was joined at the event by 13 of its members representing hotels, venues and DMCs, along with two airline partners. Guests were introduced to the range of diverse options and opportunities for hosting events, conventions and incentives in New York City whilst enjoying cocktails, food and a DJ, giving them a flavour of the city’s famous nightlife.
“Last month, New York City was named the top destination in the world in which to do business in the largest ever global study on the world’s best cities,” says Jerry Cito, Senior Vice President, Convention Development, at NYC & Company. “New York City is a global business hub; it has excellent connectivity from around the world and it resonates with a huge variety of different industries, so we are proud to not only excite and inspire like no other destination, but most importantly, to generate record attendance for meetings and events.”
“New York City welcomed a record 52 million visitors in 2012 and is on track to reach 100,000 hotel rooms by the end of 2014,” said Paul Black, European MICE director for NYC & Company. “During this time of progress and development, the road show gives us a fantastic opportunity to meet UK buyers face-to-face and update them on the wealth of opportunities for hosting meetings, incentives and events across the five boroughs.”
Following the London event, the NYC & Company delegation is hosting further events in Munich on 9th October and Milan on 10th October 2013. This is the second year NYC & Company’s MICE road show has been expanded to mainland Europe as the convention bureau looks to further enhance its visibility and grow business enquiries and bookings for meetings and events from mainland Europe. Throughout the European road show, NYC & Company and its exhibiting partners will meet with around 200 buyers to showcase what the city offers for all MICE sectors and association meetings.
On the road show, NYC & Company is joined by representatives of Briggs Inc, Denihan Hospitality Group, Gansevoort Hotel Group, Group Sales Box Office / Broadway.com, Highgate Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Marriott Hotels of New York, New York Marriott Marquis, New York Hilton Midtown, The London NYC, World Yacht and Yotel New York. United and Virgin Atlantic Airways also joined the London event.
