Creole Community of the World gathered in Seychelles

Artists from the Creole Community of the World are in Victoria, which has been declared as the Creole Capital of the World. Ozgur Tore representing FTNnews is in Victoria, Seychelles following the Festival Kreol.


kreol13-slideThe opening ceremony of the 2013 Festival Kreol was held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 with the participation of musicians from Seychelles, La Reunion, Mauritius, Rodrigues, Martinique and Haiti. "Seychelles remains proud to have pioneered this annual gathering for the Creole Community of the World in a Festival Kreol now celebrating its 28th edition" said Seychelles Culture and Tourism Minister ; Alain St.Ange.

The Creole Community is clearly growing in the world and this annual gathering in Victoria, Seychelles to mark World Creole Day of the 28th October is now an event well positioned on the International Calendar of Events as the annual gathering being used by the Creole Community of the World to showcase their respective unique culture, music, dance and cuisine.

Mme Monique Agnes Ohsan Bellepeau, Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius, President Didier Robert, the President of the region La Reunion, Mrs Nassimah Dindar, the President of the General Council of La Reunion and Mme Rose De Lima Edouard, Commissaire de la culture of the island of Rodrigues are some of the dignitaries that are in Seychelles now.

On Friday, Seychelles Culture and Tourism Minister; Alain St.Ange, and the President of the region La Reunion; Didier Robert made the official opening of Seychelles – Reunion Sustainable Development Fair.

On Saturday morning, "Young artists of the Creole World" art exhibition opened.

Speaking at the opening, Didier Robert thanked for the art initiative that photographs of young talents and professional photographers present their art together.

Alain St. Agne said that the face photographs at the exhibition are citizen of Seychelles. Those photographs present generations and changes in time.

One of the most colorful events in the Kreol Festival program, ‘Laserenad and Pipili’ which is similar to carnival parade, held at the main streets of Victoria. Seychellois, tourists, and journalists showed great interest to the festival parade and street dancing.

Host hotel of the festival, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino welcomed dignitaries, industry representatives and journalists at the garden of the hotel. General Manager of the hotel; Mr. Gulab Rai welcomed guests that came to hotel for “Les Belles Femme Creoles” fashion show.
