Hosted by the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2016 took place in Vietnam. The event was attended by 200 hospitality leaders from across the regions.
Also among the winners, Hong Kong has been recognised as Asia’s Leading Destination, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has recognised as Asia's Leading Business Hotel. AirAsia has been recognizes with two title: 'Asia's Leading Low-Cost Airline 2016' and 'Asia's Leading Inflight Service 2016: AirAsia' (see photo).
World Travel Awards President Graham Cooke said: “What a fantastic evening we have here at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, this has truly been a highlight of the tourism calendar here in Vietnam.

In Australasia, Air New Zealand took the title of Australasia's Leading Airline, while InterContinental Sydney was recognised as Australasia's Leading Business Hotel.
As the same time, host InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was voted Asia's Leading Luxury Resort.
