Turkey’s tourism income for 2013 is announced

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the total income Turkey received from tourism in 2013. It is increased 11.4 percent in 2013 compared to the previous year.

istanbul-bazaarIn 2013, Turkey's tourism income reached $32.31 billion. Foreign visitors accounted for 78.9 percent of this income, while Turkish citizens living abroad accounted for the rest. The average expenditure per capita 2013 was $824. The average foreign visitor spent $749 per capita, while average expenditure of Turkish citizens living abroad was $1,252 per capita.

During 2013, the number of Turkish citizens traveling abroad increased by 29.7 percent, and reached 7.5 million.
