MPI’s European Meetings & Events Conference started in Istanbul

Istanbul is hosting about 300 meeting and event professionals all around the world that arrived to city to attend MPI’s (Meeting Professional International) European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC).

Started on Sunday, 23 February and will continue until 25 February, meeting and event professionals experience unparalleled education sessions at the Haliç Congress Center while also earning important continuing education units.

MPI’s European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC) in Istanbul offers education sessions in multiple styles (lecture, interactive and peer-to-peer) for optimal engagement, learning and information retention. As EMEC is designed to inspire, challenge and promote new thinking, these sessions will range from the latest industry best practices (such as “Designing Effective Meetings,” “A Real-Life Story of Strategic Meetings Management” and “Web Tools and Apps for Hybrid Meetings”) to general business topics (such as “Transform Your EGOtiation to NEGOtiation,” “The Inspirational Communicator – How Leaders Move People to Action” and “Good Partners Can Lead to Great Savings”).

emec14On Sunday, 23 February, the EMEC 2014 host committee including the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism and the Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau organized a great event at an historical venue; Binbirdirek Cistern. After welcome drinks and dinner service, Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau General Manager Elif Balcı Fisunoğlu took the stage and welcomed all meeting and event professionals to Istanbul and Binbirdirek Cistern – 1001 Cistern. After the welcoming speech, an impressive dance show by Turkey’s famous dance troupe; Fire of Anatolia entertained guests.
