Pegasus Airlines is supporting the Turkish leg of the PWA Windsurfing World Cup again this year, which will be held in the chic Aegean resort town of Alacati.
Pegasus has supported the Turkish leg of the PWA Windsurfing World Cup for eight years running, helping contribute to the popularity of this watersport in Turkey and in establishing Alacati as one of the main centres for windsurfing in the world. The races which will be closely watched by the world's windsurfing community will be held on 26-31 August in Alacati.
Every year the number of supporters and spectators, from both Turkey and around the world, increases according to Pegasus Airlines' Director of Marketing Onur Dedekoylu. “As the airline that gives its guests both the opportunity to travel regularly and the inspiration to do so, we have been bringing this leading international windsurfing race to Turkey for the last eight years as well as bringing the world's speediest windsurfers from Turkey and elsewhere in the world to Alacati. We are also giving fans of windsurfing the opportunity to spend a week immersed in the dynamism of this watersport and the chance to see famous windsurfers up close.”
Dedekoylu also emphasises how years of Pegasus' support have helped in the development of windsurfing and sports tourism in Turkey: “At Pegasus Airlines we provide our guests with the means to travel throughout the year and create opportunities to do so. Sport in particular is something that our guests are travelling more and more for these days. With the support we offer to windsurfing in Turkey every year, we are reinforcing the country as an alternative sports destination and helping to further sports tourism there. The resort town of Alacati has been also benefiting the economy and tourism of the surrounding region for years with its establishment as an international centre for windsurfing.”
