The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV) has concluded its events for the first half of the year.
The events organised by İKSV in the first seven months of 2014 were attended by over 222,000 viewers.
A total of 357 short and feature-length films by 245 directors from 50 different countries in 25 categories and 8 theatres were screened at the 33rd Istanbul Film Festival that took place between 5 and 20 April 2014. The festival was attended by a total of 135,000 cinephiles.
The 19th Istanbul Theatre Festival was held between 9 May and 5 June 2014. This year, the festival brought almost 100 performances comprised of 7 international and 31 Turkish plays, dances, and performances to 12 different venues. The 19th Istanbul Film Festival was host to over 17,000 theatre enthusiasts.
Taking place between 1 and 27 June, 2014, the 42nd Istanbul Music Festival hosted close to 800 local and international artists in Istanbul. The 42nd Istanbul Music Festival reached close to 22,000 music enthusiasts this year.
The 21st Istanbul Jazz Festival took place between 1 and 16 July, 2014. Held at 13 different venues, the festival brought 40 concerts to Istanbul's music enthusiasts this summer. The 21st Istanbul Jazz Festival was attended by 25,000 music enthusiasts.
As part of the cultural programmes held as part of the 2014 cultural programme celebrating 600 years of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Poland and in collaboration with the Culture.pl digital platform affiliated with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, the Istanbul Film, Theatre, Music, and Jazz Festivals all featured various collaborations with Polish artists.
