For this year's WTM the Turkish Culture and Information Office will be highlighting what’s new in travel and tourism for 2015. Focuses will include the city of Istanbul, recently named top destination in the world by Tripadvisor readers, and Turkey's MICE offerings. The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) World Congress is being held in Antalya this year on 1-5 November, while Expo 2016 Antalya, a huge expo of agriculture and horticulture will be held in the city over six months in 2016 with 100 countries exhibiting and eight million people expected to attend. Istanbul was ranked 8th by the ICCA in its 2013 Rankings for Cities and Countries and 1st for large congresses of 300-500 guests – fittingly, the 30th AITO Overseas Conference will be held there on 27-30 November this year. Turkey will also highlight Pergamon and Bursa & Cumalikizik, recently added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List, and new tourism infrastructure developments including the skiing centre at Mount Erciyes in Kayseri, close to the well-known tourism centre of Cappadocia.

The winners of #takemetoturkey, a competition that aims to find the UK's most distinct and exceptional bloggers (including video) and instagrammers, will be announced at WTM at a networking event for bloggers and instagrammers on Wednesday 5 November at 4-6pm. The six winners will go on to travel in Turkey while blogging and instagramming to their heart's content about their trips. Bloggers and instagrammers can enter #takemetoturkey (deadline 27 October) by going to www.gototurkey.co.uk/takemetoturkey

Turkish Culture & Information Office will commemorate the centenary in 2015 of World War I's Gallipoli at WTM through a stand displaying a selection of black and white photography from the period.

Turkey is also set to introduce a brand new online training product for agents that will aim to provide information on the variety of tourism products Turkey has on offer. The Turkish Culture & Information Office will announce the launch of this exciting scheme in due course.
