Ülker withdraws support from Turkish football

Ülker - Turkey’s biggest food product producer; famous with its biscuits and its parent company Yıldız Holding have decided to withdraw their support from Turkish football.

Yıldız Holding is also gained a global reputation through the acquisitions of famous Belgian Godiva Chocolatier and American DeMet's Candy.

According to the news in Turkish media, chairman Murat Ülker wrote a letter to Yıldırım Demirören, chairman of the Turkish Football Federation saying that they will withdraw all their support from football because of the declining atmosphere and fan attraction.

He said that Ülker will withdraw its support from sponsorships, jerseys, including the National Team. “When we sponsored, we wanted Turkish football to develop, youth infrastructure to improve, our country to have a standing in Europe and in the world. However, we have not found what we expected," Ülker said in the letter.
