The East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition - Emitt 2015 is held 22-25 January 2015 at Tuyap Exhibition Center in Istanbul, Turkey. Over 4,500 travel companies; tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise operators, national tourist boards, transportation services, medical tourism providers and tourism institutes from 71 countries attended the 19th edition of the exhibition.

Russian travelers are number two in overall guests in Turkey but number one in Antalya at more than 3.3 million. Turkish tourism professionals commented that the ongoing economic crisis and falling ruble in Russia may reduce travel from Russia to Turkey by 30-35% this year. However, Turkish tourism professionals believe that Turkey’s inbound tourism will mostly cover the losses.

Turkish tourism industry sees a great increase in the early vacation reservations by Turkish travelers. With the early reservation campaign for summer holiday, Turkish travelers save significantly on holidays.

As the number of Turkish travelers traveling abroad reaches 10-million point, many international destinations attended this year’s Emitt.
