Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication of Turkey; Lütfi Elvan announced that they would like to open a tender to construct a high-speed rail link from Istanbul to Edirne Kapıkule; Turkey’s border to Bulgaria.

Reminding the completion of Marmaray rail link that connects Istanbul’s Asian side with European side under the Bosphorus, Minister Elvan said, “The Kars-Tbilisi-Baku route will be completed by the end of this year. Within this perspective we have been creating a Silk rail road from London to Beijing. On the other hand, we are intensively continuing the project work for high-speed train services that will connect Black Sea to Mediterranean”.
