First organized in 1965 as the Marmara Cycling Tour, the Turkish tour has emerged as a showcase for Turkey's natural beauty and has been broadcast live by local and international TV channels since 2009. The 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey started on Sunday with 145 km stage between held in Alanya. British cyclist Mark Cavendish has won the first two stages at the 51st Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey in Antalya.
Cavendish won the first stage Sunday, cycling the 145 kilometers-long lap in three hours, 17 minutes and 58 seconds. He was followed by Australian Caleb Ewan, who races for the Orica-GreenEDGE team, while Ruffoni from Bardiani - CSF came in third.
Mark Cavendish has garner his second straight win in the 182km second stage between Alanya and Antalya on Monday. Racing for the Etixx - Quick-Step team, Cavendish completed second stage in four hours, 21 minutes and 32 seconds, beating more than 160 other cyclists from 21 teams.
