Representatives of aviation sector have gathered in Istanbul for the IATA International Ground Handling Conference which was sponsored by the Turkey’s leading ground handling services company Havaş. Attended by more than 750 representatives of airlines and ground handling services sector, the three-day-conference is underway with the title of "Creating value at the intersection of service and cost" until April 29, 2015 at Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel.
Havaş General Manager Kürşad Koçakstated said, "We are glad that IATA International Ground Handling Conference, which attracts the sector members, is held in Istanbul this year. Havaş is providing ground handling services to many airline companies at eight airports in Germany, Latvia and Saudi Arabia besides 25 airports in Turkey. I believe that we have created a productive synergy with our shareholders at the global platform where we share our know-how and experiences regarding the sector as Turkey's longest established ground handling services company."
Koçak added, "Havaş is carrying out operations with focus on safety as highlighted in our slogan 'Flight safety starts on the ground'. We are supporting our employees both with on-the-job training sessions and safety training sessions provided throughout the year. We planned to offer a different apron and push back experience to the visitors by presenting one of the important training titles for safety service at the apron, the simulation device in its actual size, which is used for on-the-job training sessions only by Havaş in Turkey."
