Haliç Congress Center hosts Istanbul Concours d’Elegance this weekend

Concours d'Elegance dates back to 17th Century French aristocracy, who paraded horse-drawn carriages in the parks of Paris during Summer weekends and holidays. Over time, carriages became horseless and the gatherings became a competition among automobile owners to be judged on the appearance of their automobiles. Haliç Congress Center will host the 3rd Istanbul Concours d’Elegance on June 13-14, 2015.

The automobiles to enter Istanbul Concours d’Elegance will be qualified after an elimination process. The candidates will be evaluated in 5 categories and invited to enter the competition.

Scoring will be based on appearance, interior design, originality and history of the automobiles. The trophy categories are designated as “Antiques” for 1945 and earlier makes, “Classics” for 1946 – 1960 makes, “Collectables” for 1961 – 1975 makes, “Featured Brand” category featuring Ferrari this year, as well as the “People’s Choice” category where the winner will be determined by the visitors’ vote.
