Antalya Airport of Turkey’s popular Mediterranean holiday destination announced an all-time high passenger traffic on July 18, with 169,000 passengers taking off or landing via 1,012 airplanes throughout the day.

Antalya Airport served 28 million passengers in 2014, a 4.7 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ). The airport, however, saw traffic fall by 4.2 percent in the first six months of 2015, dropping to 10.5 million passengers. June 2015 saw a drop of 6.9 percent from last year to 3.6 million passengers, mainly due to the fall in the number of Russian tourists.
