Antalya Airport of Turkey’s popular Mediterranean holiday destination announced an all-time high passenger traffic on July 18, with 169,000 passengers taking off or landing via 1,012 airplanes throughout the day.
Antalya Airport served 28 million passengers in 2014, a 4.7 percent increase compared to the previous year, according to General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMÄ°). The airport, however, saw traffic fall by 4.2 percent in the first six months of 2015, dropping to 10.5 million passengers. June 2015 saw a drop of 6.9 percent from last year to 3.6 million passengers, mainly due to the fall in the number of Russian tourists.
