Istanbul Biennial exhibition in Istanbul Modern extended

Due to great interest, the exhibition in Istanbul Modern, one of the 14th Istanbul Biennial venues, is extended until 26 November 2015. The 14th Istanbul Biennial SALTWATER: A Theory of Thought Forms, organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (Ä°KSV) and sponsored by Koç Holding, closes in two weeks. Since its opening on 5 September, over 400.000 viewers visited the 14th Istanbul Biennial in 36 venues.

The biennial, drafted by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev with a number of alliances, presents over 1,500 artworks by over 80 participants. Encompassing 36 venues on the European and Asian sides of the Bosphorus, SALTWATER takes place in museums as well as temporary spaces of habitation on land and on sea such as boats, hotels, former banks, garages, gardens, schools, shops and private homes until 1 November.

Because of the general elections in Turkey on Sunday, 1 November, some of the biennial venues will have changes in visiting days and hours. Büyükada Public Library will be closed on 31 October and 1 November, and Cezayir will be closed only on Sunday, 1 November. SALT Galata will be open between 12.00 and 18.00 on Sunday, 1 November.
