Tony Swainey, General Manager of Gastonia Conference Center announced the appointment of Ms Carol Queen of Gastonia, NC as Director of Sales of the multi-use 30,000-square-foot Gastonia Conference Center scheduled to open in the fall of 2011.
A long-time resident of Gastonia, Carol is a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry with a concentration on event planning and food & beverage, most notably as Director of Catering with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Embassy Suites Hotels in Charlotte, NC, where she was honored as Catering Director of the Year and Top Sales Achiever of the Year.

As Director of Sales, Carol will be responsible for overall direction of the sales team, assisting the General Manager, analyzing the market trends, formulation of sales strategies, execution of sales initiatives in the local area, and representing the Center in the community.According to Kristin Kurie, President of The Wilderman Group that manages Gastonia Conference Center, “Carol clearly demonstrates a commitment to the customer satisfaction and a keen awareness of industry trends.
