Carlson, a global hospitality and travel company, today announced the appointment of Scott Meyer, vice president, Franchise Operations, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Carlson Hotels, Americas, to serve as interim leader, Midscale Brands, Carlson Hotels, Americas. Meyer will take on the expanded interim role on January 16 and report directly to Thorsten Kirschke, chief operating officer, Carlson Hotels, and president, Carlson Hotels, Americas.
Meyer will be responsible for overseeing Carlson Hotels' midscale brands, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson(SM) and Park Inn by Radisson in the Americas, as former leader Steve Mogck has decided to take on a new career opportunity with the Moody Bible Institute, a major non-profit organization based in Chicago.
"Steve has been an outstanding leader for Carlson Hotels for more than 13 years and has greatly helped strengthen our midscale hotel brands for the future," said Kirschke. "We wish him the best in his new personal career path. Scott, a 24-year veteran of Carlson Hotels, is well-respected among the Country Inns & Suites franchise community. His guidance will provide strong leadership and a seamless transition for our midscale brands."
In his expanded role as interim leader for Midscale Brands, Meyer will add two direct executive reports to his responsibilities: Sharon Wendland, vice president, operations, Park Inn by Radisson; and Jim Grimshaw, senior director, brand program development for Midscale Brands.
