Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced a new General Manager for Germany.
Philip Lewin will lead the airline’s German sales and marketing operations, effective April 10.
Mr Lewin has almost twenty years’ experience working in the airline industry, and joins the UAE flag carrier from American Airlines, where he has recently held the position of Country Manager India.
Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive Officer James Hogan said: “Etihad Airways’ operations in Germany are crucial to our network strategy.
“We have invested heavily in the German market and now operate 25 flights a week from three German hubs to Abu Dhabi, and onwards to more than 70 destinations throughout Africa, the Far East, Australasia and the Subcontinent.
“Following our recent strategic partnership with airberlin, improved connectivity over Abu Dhabi, and new route launches, we look forward to Philip taking up his strategically important role.
