A Certified Association Executive with 20 years of professional experience, Mark brings a record of dynamic, proactive and results-based leadership to the VRMA.
Prior to joining the VRMA, Mark served for more than a decade as Executive Director for the National Chimney Sweep Guild and the Chimney Safety Institute of America. During his tenure, Mark guided a reorganization of regional representation, introduced a comprehensive general liability insurance program for the industry, restructured the organization’s certification program and oversaw multiple successful conventions and trade shows. Mark also helped bring unparalleled media exposure increasing awareness of CSIA certification across the United States.
Mark has an established track record in the for-profit segment, serving as President for Pillar Development Corp., a private business development company based in Fishers, Ind. for four years, and working in Sales and Customer Support for Xerox. Mark also served as Executive Director for Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity and Foundation from 1993-1998, where he helped increase volunteerism, grew the organization’s endowment by 75 percent, oversaw the organization’s most successful Conference and streamlined operations.
Mark and his wife, Cheryl, live in Fishers, Ind. and are the proud parents of three children, Michael, Kristin and Kerrigan. Mark is actively involved as a volunteer leader for several organizations, including the Indiana Society of Association Executives and Rotary International.
