Second generation Turkish hotelier; Bugra Berberoglu, SVP Operations Middle East & Africa at Kempinski Hotels has been appointed as the CEO of Rixos Hotels.
A graduate of the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne; Bugra Berberoglu joined Kempinski Hotels in 2004, as General Manager overseeing the opening of the group's hotel in Chad, after working at InterContinental Hotels Group in Miami since 1998. He was then transferred to the Djibouti Palace Kempinski, where he oversaw one of the group's fastest and most challenging openings, and the first in East Africa. Following this, Berberoglu was appointed Regional Director based out of Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan, and his next posting was as General Manager of the iconic Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi. In 2013, Berberoglu was promoted to SVP Operations for the Middle East and Africa, overseeing the operations of 19 hotels. He has twice been named Entrepreneur of the Year by his peers, in 2005 and in 2006.
