Skål International will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of its foundation in the French capital, in the city where it all started - in April 1934 – with an exclusive and unforgettable week-end in the City of lights.
“It was only natural for me to organise a celebration in Paris”, states President Karine Coulanges, “as I am the first French lady elected World President of Skål International, and this is indeed a great honour. France has not had a World President for 33 years!”
“We will host 70 foreign representatives from 19 countries. Skålleagues will enjoy a warm welcome Get Together Party on a stylish private boat on the river Seine in the evening of 11 July. This will be the occasion for networking and doing business among friends. On Saturday morning a guided city tour will allow them to discover or rediscover some major attractions of the elegant and history-filled French capital which will be followed by a visit to the famous Père Lachaise Cemetery for a ceremony to pay our respects to Skål’s Honourable Founding President, Florimond Volckaert, after which a lunch has been organised in a typical French Brasserie.
Everyone will then have some free time for more sightseeing or shopping before a special Gala Evening in the picturesque and traditional neighbourhood of Montmartre, where they will receive a welcome from the famous “Poulbots” and the President of the “Republic of Montmartre” before experiencing great food and wine with French Cancan dancers, local songs, at La Bonne Franquette a very historical place and most probably the best restaurant in Montmartre. The promise of a very fun evening.”
