According to the Cuban National Statistics and Information Office (ONEI) a total of 1,136,948 international visitors arrived to the country in the first quarter of 2015. A total of 404,421 foreign vacationers arrived in March alone.
According to the Cuban National Statistics and Information Office (ONEI), that number accounts for an increase compare to 995,670 foreign tourists who visited the Caribbean island in the same period last year.
In March, Cuba was visited by 196,111 tourists from Canada, 20,925 from Germany and 15,289 from France, followed by vacationers from the United Kingdom, Italy, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain and Russia.
From January to March, Cuba was visited by 1,136,948 foreign visitors, including 1,116 tourists and 20,835 excursionists (including 8,272 cruise travelers).
In the first quarter of this year, Canada shared 48.5 percent of the number of international visitors, followed by Germany with 4.7 percent, France with 3.9 percent, the United Kingdom with 3.8 percent and Italy with 3.4 percent.
