And this year’s tournament featured its strongest line-up yet, with four star-studded clubs competing to lift the coveted trophy; Serie A’s Napoli, Portuguese giants FC Porto, Turkish champions Galatasaray and hosts, Arsenal.
Watching two thrilling matches, football fans were able to catch a long-awaited preview of the exciting months ahead before a new season gets underway.
This year’s winners, Galatasaray triumphed over home ground team Arsenal with a 2-1 defeat after 90 minutes. Walcott’s goal 40 minutes in was outmatched by Drogba’s penalty goal within 78 minutes of the game, followed by another Drogba goal in the final minutes of the match which later allowed Galatasaray to lift the trophy presented to the winning side by Laurie Berryman, Vice President, Emirates UK.
