The beach resort of Varadero, in the Cuban western province of Matanzas, will host the 11th Latin American Skydiving Championship and the 1st Friendship Cup of that sport.
The event, scheduled for late July, will bring together representatives from ten countries, including Cuba, which will take four teams (three teams of men and one of women).
According to organizers, teams from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Qatar are expected to compete in the event, which consists of three eliminatory stages, semifinals and finals in the modalities of precise individual landing and by teams.
Varadero is one of the main areas in Cuba to practice skydiving, considering the region's close link to tourism.
