The renowned International Lauberhorn Races will be held in Wengen in Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland for the 85th time on 16-18 January. As The Airline of Switzerland, SWISS supports this traditional top skiing event, and will be well to the fore throughout the three-day programme.
SWISS further underscores its commitment to winter sports through its collaboration with the International Lauberhorn Races in Wengen, one of the most traditional events on the world skiing calendar. SWISS first forged its partnership here in 2012, and has been supporting the races ever since as part of its broader involvement with the “Top Events of Switzerland”. The Lauberhorn Races are Switzerland’s biggest annual winter sports event, and are widely regarded as a highlight of the men’s FIS World Cup downhill skiing season.
SWISS’s presence in Wengen will take the form of a number of its flight attendants, who will be performing representative duties at the various official ceremonies. In addition, and for the first time, the company will also be maintaining its SWISS Lounge at an excellent location in the finish area to offer some 500 VIP invitees a unique Lauberhorn experience.
One key highlight for all the event’s attendees is sure to be the Friday and Saturday flypasts – weather permitting – of a SWISS Airbus A320 with the Patrouille Suisse. Airbus A320 HB-JLT “Grenchen” will be escorted by the F-5E Tigers of the Swiss Air Force’s aerobatics team, and the formation should make a genuinely breathtaking sight among the majestic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks.
