Golf Tourism England has revealed the formation of a strategic partnership with England Golf. The partnership will unite the stakeholders within golf tourism in one of the most developed golf markets in the world.
Golf Tourism England is the recently created body responsible with producing more visitor income from golf tourism.
Since GTE’s launch in July 2014, close to 100 golf properties and golf tour operators have signed up to be GTE members. Additional support for the enterprise has already been presented by Visit England, the national tourist board.
GTE founder Andrew Cooke said, “We are excited that England Golf has shown its support for Golf Tourism England and I consider that this agreement will allow us to establish stronger working rapport between the numerous individual bodies that have a saying in English golf tourism now. Our aim is to find and create opportunities for these groups to collaborate and develop cross-marketing strategies in order for tour operators to come up with exceptional personalized packages that enhance the all-round tourism experience for golf travelers.”
“In recent years, England has been guilty of having a more relaxed attitude towards tourism, while other countries around us, especially our neighbors in Ireland and Scotland, have greatly profited from a hands-on approach, which has generated exceptional returns in terms of inbound tourism. With six Open Championship venues, some of the world’s best links courses, parkland, endless miles of beautiful natural countryside as well as vibrant cities, we strongly believe that an approach of this kind can reaffirm England as a top destination for golfers worldwide,” added Andrew Cooke.
