New Tool kit to increase bookings to Brooklyn

NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation, has launched a new Brooklyn tool kit to assist the travel trade in promoting and selling New York City’s most populous borough.

The new “Brooklyn, Downtown and Nearby Neighbourhoods” tool kit provides relevant information for travel professionals on the area’s hotels, attractions, cultural organisations and transportation links. With a range of new hotels and attractions opening in Brooklyn in recent years, the tool kit is a convenient source of information for both leisure and MICE trade looking to book Brooklyn for clients.

The new resource is part of an overall effort by NYC & Company to encourage more visitation to New York City’s diverse neighbourhoods. Travel trade partners can access the new tool kit at

The new Brooklyn tool kit includes a new product fact sheet for the neighbourhood; a consumer focused video conveying the feeling of the area; imagery; a neighbourhood map highlighting enclaves such as Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg, DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, BoCoCa (Boerum Hill, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens), Fort Greene, Prospect Heights and Park Slope; and online content at The new neighbourhood tool kit will also be integrated into the NYC Travel Training Academy, NYC & Company’s travel agent training program (

A variety of hotels including conference, express and boutique properties are spotlighted as part of the new tool kit including the Aloft New York Brooklyn (176 rooms), Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Brooklyn (133 rooms), Holiday Inn Express Downtown Brooklyn (104 rooms), Hotel Indigo Brooklyn (128 rooms), Sheraton Brooklyn New York (321 rooms), New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge (665 rooms), NU Hotel (93 rooms), Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn (115 rooms), the Best Western Plus Arena (56 rooms), Hotel Le Bleu (48 rooms), Condor Hotel (35 rooms) and Hotel Le Jolie (54 rooms).

Attractions highlighted in the tool kit include the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the newly opened Barclays Center, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Brewery, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Navy Yard and the New York City Transit Museum. The area is also home to Brooklyn Bridge Park (with Jane’s Carousel) and Prospect Park, a 585-acre park in the heart of Brooklyn.

From a transportation perspective, the Downtown Brooklyn and Nearby Neighbourhoods area is easily accessible to both JFK and LaGuardia airports, and is just minutes from Lower Manhattan, with bus and subway service available twenty-four hours a day. The East River Ferry connects Midtown Manhattan to Williamsburg and DUMBO, and New York Water Taxi offers hop-on/hop-off service between Manhattan and DUMBO.
