As China’s popularity as a destination continues to grow, leading global travel wholesaler GTA has signed a new partnership with Jin Jiang International Hotels to offer 20 three-, four- and five-star accommodation options throughout Shanghai.
Signed today at Jin Jiang International Hotels’ corporate office in Shanghai, the news will mean even more choice for businesses selling accommodation and travel in one of China’s most popular destinations, and bring more of the world’s travellers to stay at Jin Jiang properties.

Jin Jiang Hotels benefits from GTA’s new Margin Agreement contract which means hotels can promote their Best Available Rates to businesses selling accommodation to millions of holidaymakers and business travellers around the world. Given the rapid pace of change in travel and hospitality, Margin Agreements are an increasingly attractive option for many of GTA’s partners.
In line with its ambition to ‘grow where the future is’, GTA is capturing the significant growth opportunity presented by China. China is the third most popular visitor destination in the world with over 57 million inbound arrivals in 20111, expected to rise on average 5% a year to 2016. The country’s 2.1 billion domestic trips are expected to increase by 9% a year.
The new partnership includes the flagship, five-star Jin Jiang Hotel that founded the nationwide brand from its roots in the 1930s. One of the most prestigious hotels in Shanghai, it has received more than 500 heads of state, leaders and dignitaries from over 100 countries. Also among the 20 properties being added to GTA’s portfolio are the iconic:
• Five-star, 43-story Jin Jiang Tower in the former French Concession, which features 360-degree views over the city and the five-star Hua Ting Hotel & Towers, official hotel for the 2010 World Expo.
• Art-Deco charm of the four-star, boutique Park Hotel in People’s Square and the four-star Galaxy Hotel, Rainbow Hotel, Jian Guo Hotel, Shanghai Hotel, Jing’an Hotel, Cypress Hotel, Pine City Hotel, Paradise Hotel and Tian Cheng Hotel.
• Marvel Hotel in downtown Shanghai, catering to a new generation of sophisticated business travellers.
