Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is working to accommodate the recent influx of Grand Canyon fans after they were turned away at national parks as a result of the recent U.S. federal government shutdown.
“GCRC and the Hualapai Indian Tribe is hoping to serve as many people as possible,” said GCRC Marketing Director Dawnielle Tehama. “We want to help these families whose vacations and trips have been months or years in the making, only to be cancelled.”
“We have seen over 8,000 individuals visit in the first six days of the government shutdown,” says Grand Canyon West General Manager Terry Kirkum. “This puts us around an increase of 26% from the usual trends.”
